Job Summary

Operate wire finishing machines including monitoring and operating equipment, completing production reports and performing maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate Y-bar and Flatwire finishing machines, monitor and adjust machines as needed, perform dimension checks on samples with various measuring devices to ensure that product is within standard.
• Monitor wire and rolls for surface quality, perform minor maintenance on machines such as roll changes, guide alignments and other minor tasks; also, some troubleshooting involved.
• Perform item changes which require the use of basic hand tools and making specific adjustments at each forming stand as outlined on detailed instructions.
• Tag and mark all spools and pallets that are produced and record daily production.
• Operate forklift to transport spools of wire weighing 500-1200 kg to various locations within the department; help unload trucks and prepare daily shipments; physically move and arrange spools of wire.

• High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
• Must be able to stoop/bend, reach/stretch and lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to drive a forklift and wear a respirator.

The employee is required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as required by safety program rules.
