Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to support machinery needs by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing customer purchase machinery requests according to details outlined in the order sheets.  Involves assembly and overhauling functions including disassembly, cleaning, painting and repairing the machinery to produce the best quality product possible. Including following electrical diagrams and machinery schematics / blueprints. The position requires some heavy lifting and other functions pertaining to a warehouse environment.
• Maintain inventory of necessary supplies for assembly of the machinery.
• Strong understanding of tool operation - application and ability to work unsupervised to ensure timelines are met.
• Interface with customers to understand build requirements.
• Develop / implement continuous improvement techniques to ensure build quality and efficiency.
• Maintain tools supplied by YKK in good repair and organization.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Follow Safe Work practices within established safety regulations.
• Create and maintain proper paperwork and perform general housekeeping and safety functions as needed.
• Comply with YKK’s Compliance Program Including Environmental, Quality, Health & Safety, and Confidential Information Management Guidelines.
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned.

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma (GED) minimum
• 5-10 years of related experience in related field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to work standing up, work in a warehouse atmosphere, be able to read and understand all written instructions, lift 50 lbs and wear and use all necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
• Strong Mechanical aptitude is required – formal or informal.
