Job Summary

Maintain efficient and safe operation of up to 32 Slider assembly machines while using safe work habits and good housekeeping procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have diagnostic skills to determine problem and make repairs by using hand and small power tools, measuring instruments and shop equipment to accomplish repairs
• Interpret and apply machine manuals and electro mechanical principles
• Must have working knowledge of metric system weight conversions
• Measure and evaluate assembled parts by quality standards.  Determine proper machine adjustment or repair method for product specification
• Be familiar with slider parts and finishes
• Load slider parts into auto-loaders on each slider assembly machine
• Load each day’s production on cart and push cart to staging area for next department
• Perform job with minimum supervision; assistance available when needed
• Performing any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
• Must be able to drive forklift
• Basic math skills for metric conversion
• Use of hand and small power tools
• Must take an onsite Mechanic’s test administered online

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The employee is required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as required by safety program rules.
