Job Summary
The Technical Engineer position includes, but is not limited to the following duties: Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in the industrial plant assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow and designed layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methodsConfers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
- Provide technical training and support to mechanics
- Through established PM programs, works to reduce process costs by improving machine efficiencies
- Orders and maintains proper machine parts inventories. Ensures needed machine parts and supplies are on hand
- Advises department’s management staff when machine parts are to be ordered
- Performs any other duties assigned by management

Supervision and Scope of Position
Directly supervises 3 to 5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and Requirements

Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to tow years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
