Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to perform preventative maintenance, install machinery and equipment in industrial establishment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Start up boiler, blow down once daily, and check press and water levels.  Change all charts on temperature and humidity controls.

Check oil in air compressor.  Repair air compressor, such as replacing bad valves, gaskets, governors.  Read gas meters, water meters, calibrate temperature controls, such as bearings, shaft, etc.

Pull motors, change and repair valves, gaskets, worn out parts, etc.  Repair fans on roof, replace bearings, belt, worn parts, etc.  Repair pumps and gear boxes.

Performs Inspections.  Clean up work area daily.  Operate fork lift to load and unload equipment.  Fill out work orders, material requisitions and get signatures to authorize purchases.

Perform carpenter duties as needed.  Use drills, saws, grinders, pipe wrenches, threading machines.

Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.

Replace lights, fuses.  Perform general electrical work, change solenoids, run water, air piping, etc.

Comply with TapeCraft’s Environmental, Quality, Health, Safety & 5S objectives, polices & programs, and relevant procedures.

Performs other position-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education/Experience: 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
